led to these observing systems.
NOAA has captured a considerable amount of information about environmental observing systems and this
information is maintained in a relational database and part of the NOSA project. The main purpose of
this data collection effort was to ensure that future observing systems would support the needs of the
NOAA mission goals. Extracting information from this database is fairly easy and as stated above, it
has a variety of user types.
